Flight Pro Sim’s Jet Fighter Simulator

Apr 12th, 2010 | By superhaas | Category: Software

A jet fighter simulator to add along with the flight simulator would make the genre more exciting. A number of jet fighter games are okay, but they appear to be of pure arcade style. Rather than stay contented in an arcade style jet game, I continued on searching for the level or realism that I’m really looking for.

So while the audiences for a regular flight simulator and jet fighter simulator may seem to be different on the surface, there’s actually a large crossover between them. But I think anyone who loves aircraft would also be impressed on the most technologically advanced aircraft on earth which are jet fighters. In search for the perfect jet fighter simulator, I found one hidden by Flight Pro Sim.

I won’t go into the full Flight Pro Sim experience in much detail, but suffice to say that the game is quite impressive aside from its inclusion of fighter jets. The game is massive firstly, with a completely realized and accurate model of our entire planet. To add up, thousands of airports have been accurately rendered down to the smallest and to the most insignificant details. Last but not the least, many options are available for aircraft designs which features a lot of kinds not even seen from average flight simulators. This includes fighter jets.

Experiencing mach 1 in one of these speed demons is exhilarating. I took the F-15C Eagle out first, and the sense of speed, and tight control is outstanding. The learning curve is quite lenient, making these the perfect planes for beginners to the genre, though the sense of speed may through some off. You can blast straight up into the air, do barrel rolls, and swoop down and fly just over the water’s surface, parting the water behind you like the parting of the red sea. I’ve already tried out 5 of the jets available, and there are still at least as many more for me to test out.

The one thing currently missing from Flight Pro Sim is an actual jet fighter simulator combat missions or capability, though the game is constantly being developed, and this functionality will likely be forthcoming in the future, hopefully sooner rather than later. While you can’t actually shoot down any planes yet, you can still fire and drop ordnance to help sharpen your skills for when you go. You could also engage in mock battles with other players over the game’s online mode.

If you’re looking for a great jet fighter simulator, Flight Pro Sim will certainly fit the bill. All of the elements are already in place for this to be one of the first true combat flight simulator game on the market, and a masterfully executed one at that. Take the opportunity to practice up now while you can, as the action will undoubtedly be fierce and unforgiving once airborne battles are a reality.
